Job summary

Bridgewater Bank is seeking a Senior Recovery Specialist in Calgary to lead complex mortgage recoveries and loss mitigation efforts. You will collaborate with insurers, attorneys, adjusters, builders, realtors, and internal teams to protect collateral and resolve cases end-to-end.

The role requires 5–7 years in foreclosure, power of sale, or related recoveries, with strong communication and analytical skills. Hybrid work model and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in foreclosure, power of sale, collections, recoveries, or related mortgage servicing functions.
  • Experience working with mortgage insurers, law firms, insurance adjusters, builders, realtors, appraisers, and other recovery-related stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage documentation, title matters, security registration, insurance proceeds administration, and recovery-related legal processes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer insurance claims where the Bank's security has been affected by partial or total property loss, ensuring appropriate use and distribution of insurance proceeds.
  • Coordinate with customers, insurance adjusters, builders, solicitors, and other stakeholders to support property repairs, rebuilds, and claim resolution activities.
  • Review maturing mortgage accounts to assess risk, determine renewal eligibility, and recommend appropriate renewal terms.
  • Provide expert analysis and recommendations regarding non-renewal situations with clear customer communications.
  • Support evolution of recovery policies, procedures, and guidelines to reflect regulatory changes and process improvements.
  • Manage legal recovery files involving foreclosure and power of sale from initiation through final resolution.
