Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in protection and control engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of protection principles, relay algorithms, automation, and power system behavior.
  • Experience developing or specifying protection and control algorithms or embedded applications.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and simulation platforms such as RTDS, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP.

  • Contribute to technical publications, industry presentations, IP, and training initiatives.

Job description

We are looking for a senior-level engineer with strong expertise in power system protection and control to support the development of advanced protection, automation, and grid technologies. You will help shape product functionality, develop and validate protection algorithms, evaluate new technologies, and provide technical direction to other engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply model-based design techniques using MATLAB/Simulink and related development tools.
  • Provide technical leadership across product development, testing, troubleshooting, and field applications.
  • Support new product development from early concept through validation and release.
  • Mentor engineers and provide guidance on protection, controls, modeling, and application engineering.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in digital substations, grid modernization, automation, and communications.
  • Engage with customers, utilities, and internal teams on complex technical topics.
  • Contribute to technical publications, industry presentations, intellectual property, and training initiatives.
