Job description

Senior Property Accountant - Midtown Toronto (hybrid role)

Compensation Package: $90,000-$100,000 + Annual Bonus + Benefits Package (100% Employer Paid for Single and Family Plans) + $500 Annual Wellness Bonus + Annual CPA Dues Paid + 15 Vacation Days + 3 Personal Days + 6 Health Days + RSP Plan

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of monthly/quarterly reporting packages (financial statements, work papers, supporting schedules)
2. Intercompany charge backs
3. GST/HST/QST reconciliations
4. Bank reconciliations, tenant’s account reconciliation, and assist with collection process
5. Preparation of annual final CAM and Tax billing/lease review
6. Preparation of annual budget
7. Preparation of year-end audit working papers and liaising with auditors
8. Tenant/vendor chargebacks as needed
9. Coordinate with Property Managers and Asset Managers on accounting matters
10. Cash flow management and cash calls when required
11. Assist with acquisition and disposition analysis, including preparing closing statements of adjustments

Requirements:

1. Post-secondary accounting education; pursuing CPA designation is an asset
2. At least 3+ years of experience in Property Accounting, either in a commercial portfolio or as a Senior Accountant transitioning from a CA firm
3. Ability to review and mentor peers’ work
4. Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to meet deadlines
5. Excellent communication skills for reporting and interactions with senior management
6. Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and accounting software
