About the Opportunity:
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing IFRS-compliant financial statements, analyze trends, discrepancies, and suggest improvements.
- Full Cycle Accounting: Support external bookkeepers during month- and year-end closes for subsidiary entities.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, budgeting, and ad hoc reports; present findings to management.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Record, classify, and reconcile transactions; ensure accurate coding and documentation.
- Accounts Receivable: Support AR with complex or multicurrency transactions.
- Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure ledger alignment.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Prepare journal entries, accruals, revaluations, and intercompany reconciliations; support audits.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure IFRS compliance, support GST/VAT filings, and audit prep.
- Process Improvement: Enhance accounting workflows and systems.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Prepare reports and data analysis as requested by CFO.
About You:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation or in progress is an asset.
- Experience: 3–5 years in a similar role; experience in small to medium-sized firms preferred.
- Knowledge: IFRS, full cycle accounting, tax implications of transactions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, experience with ERP systems (Sage 300, Microsoft Business Central preferred); familiarity with reporting tools is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and reconciliations.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to derive insights from data.
- Communication & Collaboration: Effective communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year
