Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and support complex capital projects in the Ottawa region for the Federal Government team. You will oversee scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement and stakeholders to deliver impactful infrastructure.

The role requires 7–10 years in project management, a degree in a relevant field, and security clearance eligibility. A collaborative, client-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in project management.
  • University degree or diploma in engineering, architecture or related discipline.
  • Must hold, or be eligible for, Federal Government security clearance at the Secret level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • PMP designation, P.Eng., OAA or other credentials are an asset.
  • Hands-on on-site coordination during complex, fast-paced construction, staying calm under pressure.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams with a collaborative, community-minded approach.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management to translate technical info for clients.
  • Client-focused with a consulting mindset and strong problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project stakeholders and represent best interests on contractual/technical issues; manage changes and resolve issues.
  • Plan and coordinate procurement, risk, cost, schedule, scope, records management.
  • Define deliverables, procure resources, identify milestones and review progress.
  • Prepare reports on status, schedules, expenditures and actions.
  • Apply construction methodologies, codes, contract law and legislation to guide decisions and ensure compliance.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative relationship with all project team members.

Your role

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager in the Ottawa region supporting our Federal Government team!

In this role, you’ll lead and support complex capital projects across the public sector, including institutional buildings, facilities and essential infrastructure. You’ll oversee projects from planning through delivery, managing scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement and key project stakeholders.

Bring your project management expertise and collaborative approach to build strong client relationships, navigate complex project requirements and help deliver projects that make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and management of complex major capital projects varying in size and scope in the public sector
  • Manage various project stakeholders to represent their best interests regarding contractual and technical issues, manage change and resolve issues
  • Planning and coordinating project management activities including procurement, risk, cost, schedule, scope, records management
  • Formulating and managing project plans by defining deliverables, identifying and procuring necessary resources, identifying key milestones and reviewing project progress
  • Preparing reports on project status, project schedules, project expenditures and impending actions
  • Apply knowledge of construction methodologies, project management models, building codes, contract law, and relevant legislation to guide project decisions and ensure compliance
  • Foster a positive, collaborative working relationship with all members of the project team
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of experience in project management

  • Demonstrated ability to provide hands‑on, on‑site coordination during complex, fast‑paced construction phases, staying calm under pressure and adapting as priorities shift
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams — including contractors, design consultants, and commissioning agents, with a collaborative, community‑minded approach
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear updates for clients and project stakeholders
  • Client‑focused, with a consulting mentality, strong technical capabilities, and a sharp problem‑solving mindset that keeps client priorities front and center

Expected Compensation: $97,920 – $134,640 per year (CAD)

This range represents our good‑faith estimate at the time of posting, based on market benchmarks and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined considering the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications and regional consideration. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
