Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders in Ottawa seeks a Project Manager - Healthcare to lead major capital healthcare projects and cross-disciplinary programs. You’ll build trusted client relationships, oversee multi-project delivery, and manage budgets, schedules and staffing across the lifecycle.

You will collaborate with owners, consultants and internal teams, ensuring client satisfaction while addressing contractual and technical challenges.

Qualifications

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, project management or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, representing owner to multiple stakeholders in the delivery of projects of varying size and scope.
  • Experience delivering healthcare projects is an asset.
  • Experience with the preparation of RFPs, tenders and tender closing/award procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
  • Professional credentials such as PMP, PEng, RA, CSA Z8000-18, CSA Z317.13-17 Infection Control During Construction are assets.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with local and regional teams.
  • A strong sense of community and involvement in local community boards and associations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives
  • Lead programs of work and large capital projects, varying in size and scope
  • Manage all stakeholders including both clients and consultants
  • Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues
  • Regularly report to the client on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports
  • Manage project staff allocated to your projects, peer reviewing their deliverables and continuously developing their knowledge and capabilities
  • Chair client, project and site meetings, find resolution to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders
  • Maintain contact with existing and prospective clients and respond to business development and sales opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Team Lead or Principal

Your Role

We are looking for a Project Manager - Healthcare to join our team in Ottawa!

In this role, you’ll join our team of experts to help lead and deliver major capital building and infrastructure projects across a variety of sectors, with a primary focus on healthcare. While healthcare experience is an asset, the role provides opportunities to contribute to multidisciplinary projects in other market areas.

You will be at the forefront of ensuring your projects not only meet but exceed client expectations, while having a knack for building strong and trusting client relationships.

Your ability to oversee multiple projects through the entire project lifecycle will be key in driving these projects to success, from identifying and addressing gaps to controlling costs and ensuring clear, effective communication.

  • Professional industry credentials such as the following, or other similar industry recognized designation is considered an asset: PMP, P,Eng, RA , CSA Z8000-18 Canadian Health Care Facilities, CSA Z317.13-17 Infection Control During Construction
  • A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with local and regional teams
  • A strong sense of community and involvement in local community boards and associations
Expected Compensation

$72,158– $103,993 per year (CAD)

This compensation range represents our good-faith estimate at the time of posting, based on market benchmarks and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined considering the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications and regional consideration. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
