Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders in Ottawa, Canada, is seeking a Project Manager for our Federal Government business unit. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, lead capital building and infrastructure projects, and provide technical and project leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires 5+ years of PM experience on complex projects, a degree in engineering or architecture, strong leadership and communication skills, and a security clearance. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience on capital-building projects.
  • University degree in engineering, architecture or related discipline.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient with MS Project, Word and Excel; experience with budgeting and reporting.
  • PMP, P.Eng., OAA or other credentials are assets; bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate project activities including budgets and contracting.
  • Produce internal and external project status reports and forecasts.
  • Coordinate drawings and documentation among project teams for review.
  • Support design managers with multi-discipline reports and quality assurance.

Your role

Join our team as a Project Manager with the Federal Government business unit. In this role, you’ll join our team of experts who lead major capital building and infrastructure projects. As the Project Manager you act as a trusted advisor to our clients, representing their interests at all times to multiple stakeholders and providing technical and project leadership to the teams they oversee. Our people are not only Project Managers; they are Project Leaders who take a client‑centric approach to project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and coordinating project management activities including financial, planning and contracting aspects
  • Working with a variety of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
  • Support senior team members in project documentation and coordination
  • Produce internal and external project status reports
  • Manage and update project budget data and reports on individual project financial statuses
  • Review budget data and forecast project services costs for each quarter
  • Co‑ordinate consultant drawings, documentation and other submissions amongst the project team for review and comments
  • Assist design managers in compiling multi‑discipline reports for client review
  • Maintain high standards related to final product quality
  • Assist with overall project performance including forecasting, costing, scheduling, and quality assurance
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in project management managing projects
  • A university degree in engineering, architecture or other related discipline
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
  • PMP, P.Eng., OAA designation or other industry recognized credentials are considered assets
  • French/English bilingual is considered a strong asset
  • Must hold or be eligible for Reliability or Secret level security clearance from the Federal Government

Expected Compensation: $72,158– $103,993 per year (CAD). This compensation range represents our good‑faith estimate at the time of posting, based on market benchmarks and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined considering the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications and regional consideration. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
