Position: Senior Project Manager (Electrical) - Energy Department

Responsibilities

1. Manage and lead transmission and distribution substation projects, overseeing budget, schedule, scope, quality, safety, construction, and contract performance.
2. Allocate resources, develop project design, check and approve processes, set strategic sequencing, achieve milestones, track costs, and ensure deliverables.
3. Coordinate project meetings, identify issues, provide updates, and document meeting minutes.
4. Define project objectives, establish policies, procedures, work methods, and performance standards aligned with company and safety policies and contract specifications.
5. Maintain excellent relationships with clients, project teams, consultants, regulatory bodies, suppliers, subcontractors, and communities.
6. Plan, monitor, and manage engineering and construction schedules and milestones.
7. Develop detailed cost estimates, schedules, RFPs, RFQs, contracts, etc.
8. Collaborate with clients and contractors, and participate in site visits during the project lifecycle.
9. Prepare equipment specifications, subcontract documents, evaluate bids, monitor contract changes, and manage RFIs.
10. Oversee project invoicing, forecasting, milestone payments, and closeouts.
11. Conduct lessons learned meetings and implement changes to improve future projects.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering, project management, high voltage substation design (Ontario standards), and hands-on construction and contract management.
• Strong skills in planning, organization, decision-making, meetings, critical thinking, problem-solving, risk management, leadership, delegation, adaptability, and teamwork.
• PMP certification and/or P.Eng registration in Ontario (asset).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with a high degree of autonomy.
