Job summary

Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited in Eastern Ontario is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple construction projects, maintain client and trade partner relationships, and ensure project alignment with budget and schedule.

The role emphasizes leadership, proactive cost control, and collaboration with Owners, Consultants, and internal teams to deliver high‑quality general contracting work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience managing projects in the ICI or Condo/Apartment Building industry.
• Architectural or Engineering diploma or degree considered an asset.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of CCDC Contracts and Construction Law.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
• Experience with COR (Certificate of Recognition) considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with all stakeholders.
• Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
• Meet with Owners and Consulting teams and communicate concerns and best interests of the company.
• Monitor, interpret and forecast project cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression.
• Engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved and corporate interests are kept in mind.
• Participate in business development with other internal team members to help build and grow the General Contracting sector.
• Manage, mentor and train internal staff.
• Maintain up to the minute project information using Autodesk Build project management software and Microsoft Project for scheduling.
• Help estimating with tendering and job showings as needed.

Overview:

The General Contracting division at Thomas Cavanagh Construction has proudly provided comprehensive general contracting and construction management services to the community for over a decade. Our privileged engagement extends to overseeing and constructing projects for external clients, as well as contributing internally to various sectors within the Cavanagh organization. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing and reporting on multiple construction projects while maintaining client and trade partner relationships in the industry.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10+ years of experience managing projects in the ICI or Condo/Apartment Building industry.
• Architectural or Engineering diploma or degree considered an asset.
• Maintain extensive knowledge and understanding of CCDC Contracts and Construction Law.

Wage Range

The salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 per year and $140,000 per year. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
