Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major healthcare construction projects across Canada. You will manage large-scale hospitals, imaging suites, ORs, EDs and long-term care facilities from planning through turnover, while partnering with clients, consultants and trade partners.

You will mentor teams, drive schedules and budgets, and champion health, safety and infection control throughout occupancy. A bilingual capability is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in project management for ICI construction.
• University degree or technology diploma in engineering or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid knowledge of construction methods, financial management, codes and legislation.
• Champions quality and health & safety practices; bilingual English/French.

As an experienced Senior Project Manager in the Building Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - while working closely with our client groups and subcontractors and acting as an integral part of our projects team.

What you will do

• Grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision.
• Support your project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met.
• Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing.
• Share your knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members.
• Be an expert in risk management to ensure any associated project risk is minimized.
• Take pride in compiling and completing companywide project reports.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, and trade partners, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows, infection control standards, and operational requirements.
• Apply project-specific safety standards, promoting Pomerleau’s HS&E standards and complying with relevant OH&S acts, regulations, and codes universally.
• Lead the delivery of complex healthcare construction projects—including hospitals, diagnostic imaging suites, operating rooms, emergency departments, and long‑term care facilities—from planning through turnover.
• Champion health & safety, infection prevention and control (IPAC/ICRA), and patient‑first planning throughout construction and occupancy phases.

This role could be for you if you have

• 10+ years’ experience in Project Management the ICI construction industry.
• University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational prowess, influential abilities, adept problem‑solving, ensuring project success amidst diverse challenges.
• Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, as well as building codes and associated legislation.
• Be a champion and role model for quality and all health and safety best practices.
• Experienced working with scheduling software, knowledge and experience working with P6 considered a strong asset.
• Bilingualism (English and French), with strong written and verbal communication skills in both official languages.
