Job summary

A national leader in construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale projects in Ottawa, Ontario. The successful candidate will manage projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion while building strong relationships with stakeholders. Successful applicants will have over 10 years of experience in project management, a degree in engineering, and exceptional leadership skills. As an experienced Senior Project Manager in the Building Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large‑scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – while working closely with our client groups, subcontractors and acting as an integral part of our projects team.

Responsibilities

• Grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision.
• Support your project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met.
• Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing.
• Share your knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members.
• Be an expert in risk management to ensure any associated project risk is minimized.
• Take pride in compiling and completing company‑wide project reports.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.
• Apply project‑specific safety standards, promoting Pomerleau’s HS&E standards and complying with relevant OH&S acts, regulations, and codes universally.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in Project Management in the ICI construction industry.
• University degree/technology diploma in engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational prowess, influential abilities, adept problem‑solving, ensuring project success amidst diverse challenges.
• Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, as well as building codes and associated legislation.
• Be a champion and role model for quality and all health and safety best practices.
• Experienced working with scheduling software; knowledge and experience with P6 considered a strong asset.
