Job summary

BUILD IT in Mississauga, ON is seeking a full-time, on-site Construction Project Manager to oversee the execution and management of commercial construction projects. You will manage budgets, ensure safety standards, and coordinate project activities with diverse teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience in construction project management, a related post-secondary degree, and knowledge of Procore and MS Project. PMP or BCIN certifications are assets.

Role Description

We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site Construction Project Manager at BUILD IT. The Construction Project Manager will oversee the execution and management of construction projects, ensuring that budgets are managed, safety standards are met, and all project activities are efficiently executed.

Qualifications:

• Possess 5–7 years of experience managing construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and invoicing within the commercial sector.


• Post-secondary education in Project Management, Construction Management or a related fieldis preferred. Additional certifications such asPMP or BCINis an asset.


• Solid understanding of construction financials and cost management.


• Strong proficiency in navigating, interpreting, and administering CCDC contracts, with a focus on CCDC 5B


• In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.


• Experience in construction management with proficiency in Procore and MS Project, and ability to lead diverse teams.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and teams.


• Knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and compliance requirements.


• Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee construction projects to meet scope, schedule, and client specifications. Coordinate resources and ensure timely delivery.


• Budget Control: Monitor and manage project budgets with accurate cost reporting and accountability.


• Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams. Conduct team meetings and maintain collaboration.


• Safety Oversight: Implement and enforce workplace safety protocols to maintain compliance and a safe work environment.


• Quality Assurance: Inspect sites to ensure work meets high-quality standards and client expectations.


• Client Communication: Build and maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and issue resolution.


• Risk Mitigation: Identify risks early and implement solutions to keep projects on track.


• Permitting & Compliance: Secure required permits and ensure alignment with building codes and regulations.


• Documentation Management: Use tools like Procore to track and log project data, including reports, RFIs, and approvals.


• Mentorship & Strategic Planning: Train coordination teams, participate in KPI development, and contribute to organizational efficiency.
