A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee capital and operational projects at various healthcare sites. The role involves managing all project aspects, from initiation to closing, while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Ideal candidates will have extensive project management experience, strong leadership skills, and a background in construction management. The Senior Project Manager provides expertise, leadership, and oversight on assigned capital and operating building infrastructure projects at healthcare sites. This role is responsible for all project management aspects, including development, initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, control, and closing. Projects vary from minor to major capital and complex operational infrastructure projects within Alberta Health Services (AHS), requiring demonstrated project management expertise across diverse scopes, complexities, and sensitivities.
Responsibilities include engaging with various stakeholders, integrating construction and project management practices with AHS strategies, ensuring compliance with building codes, healthcare standards, and municipal bylaws across 48 divisions of the Master Format. The role involves directing project resources, leading and mentoring project teams, managing stakeholder engagement, and supporting the Program Manager with project planning and development.
At least 7 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction project management within a large, complex, and diverse organization. Proven ability to manage, mentor, motivate, and lead teams and stakeholders, including professional and unionized staff. Strong knowledge of construction and project management concepts, laws, codes, regulations, and procurement procedures. Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
Two-year post-secondary program, with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or Project Management (Building Construction), or a Diploma/certification in related fields, or a Journeyman Trade Certificate.
Experience in healthcare facility construction, planning, and project management within operational acute care settings. Experience working with external consultants, contractors, government agencies, and regulators. Membership in AAA, APEGGA, ASET, or PMP designation related to Building Infrastructure Industry.
