About the Role

Clark Builders is hiring a Senior Project Manager. Working out of the Calgary office, the Senior Project Manager will lead and support projects across all our regions of work. This role is highly accountable and responsible for all aspects associated with the successful execution and delivery of our projects safely, within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You must have the highest respect for people, lead the implementation of measurable lean practices, and demonstrate a proven track record of achieving the successful delivery of projects according to conditions of satisfaction.

Reporting and Responsibilities
  • Reporting to: Director, Operations or Project Executive
  • Key Duties:
  • Lead, develop, and build operations talent and foster a positive cultural environment.
  • Ensure operational standards and processes are achieved for efficiency, consistency, and excellence.
  • Provide exceptional client care and service to maximize value.
  • Develop strategies to meet project performance goals and satisfaction conditions.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and lean culture through best practices and staff training.
  • Oversee project startup activities, including contract finalization, kickoff meetings, and planning.
  • Collaborate with estimating and business development teams to pursue new work.
  • Manage all financial aspects of projects.
  • Oversee safety, quality control, and communication plans.
  • Create and manage project schedules.
  • Lead meetings, document minutes, and follow up on actions.
  • Monitor project productivity and performance.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Handle project close-out, including training, inspections, and warranty management.
  • Support business development through maintaining client and industry relationships.
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering growth and opportunity.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to make complex, ambiguous, and risk-averse decisions.
  • Proactive in conflict prevention and resolution.
  • Experience with industry technology, innovations, and processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience managing construction projects, especially in commercial, industrial, or institutional sectors.
  • Experience with various construction contracts and project sizes.
  • Understanding of Lean principles, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement; Last Planner System and Procore experience are assets.
