Job Description: The Senior Project Director will be responsible for overseeing and successfully planning and executing the IT Risk Mitigation Initiatives from start to finish, including but not limited to the following:
- a) Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the IT Risk Mitigation Initiatives portfolio to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards;
- b) Oversee the development of detailed project plans, charters, timelines, resource plans, and manage the portfolio throughout the project life cycles;
- c) Build, communicate, and manage an integrated program plan (IPP);
- d) Manage the budget for all initiatives and projects within the IT Risk Mitigation Initiatives portfolio;
- e) Manage project risks and issues, implementing corrective measures as needed;
- f) Oversee all projects within the portfolio and manage their interdependencies;
- g) Track and manage resource utilization across all project streams;
- h) Support stakeholder communication and serve as the primary contact between leadership, technology teams, and key stakeholders;
- i) Align project deliverables with the desired outcomes of the initiatives, involving all stakeholders;
- j) Provide guidance to project managers and delivery teams to achieve project objectives;
- k) Develop and implement processes for governance, including gating checkpoints, dashboards, and reports;
- l) Produce and manage status reports with the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), ensuring compliance with standards;
- m) Lead governance activities, including steering committee coordination and creation of progress reports;
- n) Report progress to the Executive Management Committee, Audit and Finance Committee, and Board of Directors as required.
Skill set requirements include:
- a) Minimum of ten years' experience managing technology programs of similar scope and scale;
- b) Deep understanding of project management methodologies such as PMBOK.
Education and certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or equivalent certifications preferred.
Additional details:
- The services will be provided onsite at WCB facilities and from the contractor's facilities in Canada, unless otherwise agreed;
- The Senior Project Director is expected to perform services onsite at least 50% of the time;
- Work authorization is required, and relocation is accepted;
- Remote work is not permitted.
