Job summary

ASCO Construction Ltd in Ottawa, Ontario seeks a Senior Project Coordinator to join the project execution team and help plan, coordinate, and deliver projects within client budgets and timelines.

You will assist with on-site and off-site coordination, manage RFIs/RFQs, submittals, and documentation, and support change orders, procurement, and scheduling using MS Project or Primavera. Strong English is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• College or university degree in Architecture, Construction or Engineering is an asset.
• 7+ years of construction project coordination experience with a general contractor.
• Excellent knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Advanced scheduling with Microsoft Project or Primavera.
• Experience with surveying Total Station and AutoCAD interface is an asset.
• Strong English communication skills; French an asset.

Responsibilities

Job description

Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Senior Project Coordinator is part of the project execution team, responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and safely delivering ASCO’s projects within our client’s budgetary constraints and timelines.

The Senior Project Coordinator will:

• Assist the project team with on-site and off-site coordination and project support
• Manage Request for Information (RFIs) and Request for Quotations (RFQs)
• Manage and track Submittals (Shop drawings) and project relevant documentation
• Assist with pricing of Change Requests
• Receive, track, and inspect field purchases and materials
• Keep daily records of labour, equipment, concrete, aggregates, and rentals
• Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, rentals and subcontractors
• Assist with the insurance and management of subcontracts and purchase orders
• Develop and maintain up to date project schedule using MS Project or equivalent
• Assist with quality control and quality assurance activities on siteObtain, manage, and submit project closeout documentation

Candidate should:

• Have a College or University degree in Architecture, Construction or Engineering is an asset
• Have at least 7 years of construction project coordination experience working for a general contractor
• Have excellent knowledge of Bluebeam and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook as a minimum)
• Have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera scheduling
• Experience with surveying Total Station and interface with AutoCAD software an asset
• Have strong English communication skills (oral and written); French language an asset
• Have strong aptitude and accuracy with mathematical problem solving
• Be willing to work in an office and job site environment and put in the extra time required when the need arise
• Have the ability to effectively manage priorities
• Be able to read, understand and interpret plans, drawings, sketches, and contract specifications
