Job summary

EllisDon Corporation in Canada is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to lead the Project Accounting team and oversee 2+ direct reports. You will ensure accurate reporting of project costs and revenues, support cash flow forecasting, and collaborate with Operations and General Accounting forMonth End accuracy.

The role requires 5–8 years in ICI Construction accounting, proficiency in Excel, and experience with ERP systems (Explorer Eclipse) and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience preferably in ICI Construction.
• Degree/Diploma in a related field. AACE accreditation(s) considered an asset (e.g. CCT, CPP).
• Demonstrated experience with a variety of contract types (Unit Rate, Cost-Reimbursable, T&M (LEMS), Provisional Sums, Lump Sum).
• Ability to identify financial situations and produce logical solutions to support a project team/business area.
• Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Explorer Eclipse ERP and B2W Estimate/Track software is an asset.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI).
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to work independently and on-site at project locations.
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and meet tight deadlines.
• Must have or be eligible for CISD Secret Level Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Be a lead member of the Project Accounting team supervising 2+ direct reports.
• Facilitate accurate and timely reporting of project cost and revenue.
• Support Operations with timely development of the project CBS.
• Enter and maintain project data (budgets, forecasts, quantities, cost codes).
• Produce variance reporting (cost/revenue accruals, budget moves, quantity claiming).
• Understand key contractual information for assigned projects.
• Support operations with cash flow forecast development.
• Collaborate with Operations and General Accounting to ensure Month End accuracy.
• Provide project insights to cross-functional teams for decision-making.
• Other tasks as assigned.
