Job summary

EllisDon Corporation seeks a Senior Project Accountant in Ottawa, ON to lead project accounting functions, supervise a small team, and ensure precise cost and revenue reporting for complex construction projects.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience in the construction sector, with advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; eligibility for CISD Secret Level Clearance is required. On-site work at project locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-8 years of accounting experience, preferably in ICI Construction.
• Degree/Diploma in a related field; AACE accreditation (e.g., CCT, CPP) is an asset.
• Experience with various contract types (Unit Rate, Cost-Reimbursable, T&M, Provisional Sums, Lump Sum).
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze data to support project decisions.
• Experience with Explorer Eclipse ERP and B2W Estimate/Track is an asset; knowledge of Power BI helpful.
• Ability to work on-site at project locations; strong organization and communication skills.
• Must have or be eligible for CISD Secret Level Clearance.

• Lead the Project Accounting team; supervise 2+ direct reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project cost and revenue.
• Support Operations with project CBS development and cash flow forecasts.
• Enter and maintain project data (budgets, forecasts, cost codes).
• Produce variance reports (cost/revenue accruals, budget moves, claims).
• Collaborate with Operations and General Accounting on Month End reporting.
• Provide project insights for cross-functional decision making.
