Job summary

Randstad Canada is assisting with a Senior Program Manager search for a contract role in the insurance sector. The incumbent will lead a multi-country financial controls transformation across Canada, the US and the UK & Ireland, reporting to senior leaders and coordinating regional PMs.

The role is based in Montreal or Toronto with a hybrid work model (two days in the office). You will drive program delivery, manage budgets and vendor performance, and provide clear executive updates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive project/program management experience.
• Finance transformation or major finance-related programs experience.
• Strong executive communication, concise updates to leadership.
• Experience coordinating multiple Project Managers and workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the program focused on reviewing, improving and automating financial controls.

• Monitor risks and issues; elevate concerns and support timely decisions.
• Consolidate regional updates and prepare concise executive reports with progress and decisions.

The successful candidate will lead a financial controls transformation program across Canada, the US, and the UK and Ireland. Working closely with senior finance leaders and regional Project Managers, this person will oversee program delivery, coordinate multiple workstreams and provide clear updates to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall program focused on reviewing, improving and automating financial controls.
• Develop and maintain the program plan, including priorities, milestones, timelines and dependencies.
• Coordinate regional Project Managers and workstreams to keep delivery on track.
• Lead steering committee meetings, executive reviews and the process for managing changes to program scope and timelines.
• Monitor risks and issues, elevate concerns and support timely decisions and resolution.
• Consolidate regional updates and prepare concise executive reports highlighting progress, key risks and decisions required.
• Oversee program budgets, forecasts, benefits tracking and vendor performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive project/program management experience, including leading large, complex programs.
• Experience delivering finance transformation or other significant finance-related programs.
• Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, concise updates.
• Experience coordinating multiple Project Managers and workstreams, managing risks and keeping stakeholders aligned.
• Experience managing program budgets and vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field; CPA, PMP or PgMP designation is an asset.
• Strong proficiency with JIRA, Confluence and program reporting tools.
• Experience in insurance, banking, financial services or another regulated industry is preferred.
• Exposure to SOX, NI 52-109, internal controls improvement or controls automation is an asset.
• Experience with financial systems or ERP-related initiatives is an asset.
