A leading technology services provider is seeking a Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of major technology initiatives. Focus Systems is supporting a client in seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of major technology initiatives. This role is ideal for a PM who thrives in complex environments, brings strong governance discipline, and can provide executive-level reporting and financial performance insights.

  • Location: Remote within Canada
  • Schedule: Full-time (business hours)
  • Contract Term: Mar 23, 2026 – Feb 22, 2027 (1 year)
  • Extensions: Two (2) additional 12-month renewal options
Role Overview

Reporting to the Director, Major Program Delivery, the Project Manager will manage full lifecycle delivery across scope, schedule, and budget. A key focus of this role is financial forecasting, cost control, variance tracking, performance reporting, and ensuring major programs are delivered with strong governance and predictability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full project lifecycle delivery, managing scope, schedule, and budget
  • Build and manage integrated project plans across cross-functional teams
  • Develop financial forecasts, track budgets, analyze variances, and report performance
  • Support governance reviews, compliance audits, and program assurance activities
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practices
  • Track contractual milestones and deliverable acceptance tied to funding release
  • Manage Change & Decision Requests (CR/DR) and ensure proper approvals
  • Audit and maintain RAAIDD logs to ensure governance compliance
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline
Experience
  • 7–10 years delivering large-scale technology projects and programs
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end planning, execution, and financial oversight
  • Advanced expertise in financial forecasting, budget management, cost control, and variance analysis
  • Experience establishing or improving governance frameworks, reporting models, and delivery controls
  • Experience working within a PMO environment
  • Experience supporting Agile or SAFe delivery models
  • Experience working in regulated, public-sector, or large enterprise environments
Technical & Leadership Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Project (schedule baselining, tracking, optimization)
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel analysis capabilities
  • Experience preparing executive-level dashboards and decision-ready reports
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in complex, fast-paced environments
