Job summary

NEXUS Community Support Society is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead Staff Supported Homes in Cranbrook, BC. You will coach Program Managers, ensure compliance with licensing and CARF standards, and advance person-centered practices across programs.

This in-person, temporary full-time role requires strong operational leadership, cross-team collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic community-based setting.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in staffed residential services.
  • Demonstrated coaching, conflict resolution, organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Community Care Licensing Regulations, CARF standards and person-centred practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational oversight and support to Staff Supported Homes within the region, ensuring programs operate according to policy and licensing requirements.
  • Guide Program Managers in policy implementation, service standards and operational priorities while promoting accountability.
  • Monitor operations, identify risks and work with managers to resolve issues and improve quality.

About the Role

The Senior Program Manager provides operational leadership,guidanceand oversight to assigned Staff Supported Homes within an assigned region. Working collaboratively with the Program Director, the Senior Program Manager supports Program Managers in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centredservices by providing coaching, operational guidance, quality monitoring andassistancewith complex operational, human resource and compliance matters. The role promotes consistency across assigned programs while supporting Program Managers in the day-to-day management of their programs and reducing the operational demands of the Program Director.

  • Diploma and/or Degree in a related health,humanor social services field preferred.
  • Three to five years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in staffed residential services.
  • Knowledge of Community Care Licensing Regulations, CARF standards and person-centredpractices.
  • Demonstrated coaching, conflict resolution, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent operational situations.

Key Responsibilities
Program Operations
  • Provide operational oversight and support to assigned Staff Supported Homes within the region, promoting consistent service delivery and ensuring programsoperatein accordance withNEXUS policies, procedures, licensingrequirementsand person-centredpractices.
  • Support and guide Program Managers in understanding and implementing agency policies, procedures, servicestandardsand operational priorities while encouraging sound decision-making and accountability.
  • Monitor program operations,identifytrends, risks or service levelconcernsand work collaboratively with Program Managers to resolve issues, remove operationalbarriersand promote continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation of agency initiatives, organizationalprioritiesand operational changes as directed by the Program Director.
  • Act as a resource to Program Managers byprovidingoperational guidance,assistingwith complexsituationsand promoting consistency across assigned programs.
Leadership & Operational Support
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and day-to-day support to Program Managers to strengthen leadership skills, promote consistent decision-makingand support effective program management.
  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources and Program Managers in addressing Letters of Expectation, grievances, preliminary or full investigations and other employee relations matters, ensuring issues are managedin accordance withNEXUS policies and applicable collective agreements.
  • Support the recruitment process byassistingwith recruitment prioritization,monitoringvacanciesand ensuring interviews are completedin a timely manner. Participate in interviews asrequired.
  • Provide oversight ofportfolioonboarding requirements for frontline staff, supporting Program Managers in ensuring orientation requirements, policy reviews, requiredtrainingand system access are completed.
  • Identifyopportunities for leadership development and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to support the growth and success of Program Managers.
Quality, Compliance & Administration
  • Support and oversee program quality reviews, licensing compliancereviewsand annual Quality Assurance documentation audits to ensure programs meet agency standards, licensingrequirementsand documentation expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Managers to develop,implementandmonitorcorrective action plans arising from quality reviews, licensinginspectionsoridentifiedprogram concerns.
  • Provide oversight and support to Program Managers in monitoring program budgets and expenditures, reviewingvariancesand promoting responsible use of program resources while escalating significant concerns to the Program Director.
  • Develop andmaintaincollaborative relationships with community partners and support Program Managers in resolving escalated concerns to promote positive working relationships and continuity of service.
  • Monitor operational trends across assigned programs and provide recommendations to the Program Director to support continuous quality improvement and operational consistency.
Health, Safety & Sites
  • Provide guidance and oversight to Program Managers in meeting Health & Safety requirements, working collaboratively with the Senior Health & Safety Advisor to ensure requiredinspections,follow-up actions and corrective measures are completed.
  • Support Program Managers in addressing significant incidents, safetyconcernsand operational risks by ensuringappropriate follow-up,reportingand continuous improvement activities occur.
  • Coordinate and support the resolution of escalated building and maintenance concerns, working collaboratively with internal departments, contractors and external service providers while supporting Program Managers inmaintainingsafe and functional program environments.
