Qualifications

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Production Accountant will be responsible for completing month-end production accounting cycles across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. The role includes supporting the Production Accounting team with various operational tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Review facility data and plant inventories for accuracy
  2. Maintain communication with Operations and Commercial teams regarding plant balancing and volume changes
  3. Calculate Proration Factors for R360 Full-Service Terminals (FSTs)
  4. Manage producer volume split allocations and correspondence
  5. Generate reports such as Shipper and APMC, and manage gas venting, pipeline confirmations, and oil credits
  6. Update internal business applications with facility codes
  7. Confirm oil sales, splits, and receipt volumes with pipelines, producers, and purchasers
  8. Reconcile volume data and receipts for shipper balances
  9. Maintain government reporting requirements and deadlines in AB, SK, and BC via Petrinex
  10. Collaborate to resolve production and measurement audit queries
  11. Maintain expertise in volumetric applications (D365, Truck Ticketing, Petrinex)
  12. Ensure compliance with internal controls, AER directives, and corporate policies
  13. Respond promptly to customer queries and communicate proactively with stakeholders
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
  • 7+ years of volumetric/production accounting experience in Oil & Gas
  • CAPPA certification (asset)
  • Experience with Production Accounting software and proficiency in Petrinex and Petrotranz
  • Strong skills in Excel and Microsoft D365
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Technical knowledge of plant allocations, measurement, schematics, and regulatory reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem identification
  • Leadership qualities and adaptability
  • Ability to address customer queries effectively
  • Ability to pass pre-employment requirements
