Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager (AI) based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the development and evolution of AI-powered products and capabilities. In this role, you will connect data, machine learning, and large language models to meaningful customer needs and measurable business outcomes. You will define product vision and strategy, guide initiatives from discovery through launch, and continuously improve AI-driven experiences. Working closely with Engineering, Data Science, Design, Sales, and other teams, you will identify valuable opportunities and turn them into scalable solutions. You will also champion responsible AI practices, ensuring product capabilities are reliable, safe, and aligned with user expectations. This is an opportunity to shape innovative digital products within a collaborative, international, and remote-friendly environment.

Accountabilities

You will lead the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of AI-powered products, ensuring that technical capabilities translate into meaningful user and business value. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Define and own the vision, strategy, and market fit for AI-powered products and experiences, including recommendations, pricing, search, workflow automation, and conversational tools.
  • Conduct customer discovery, interviews, and usage analysis to understand consumer and dealer needs and identify appropriate opportunities for AI.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from problem discovery and requirements definition to launch, adoption, measurement, and ongoing optimization.
  • Gather business, customer, and technical requirements from consumers, dealers, sales, support, account teams, and data specialists, translating them into clear product outcomes.
  • Develop, document, and prioritize the AI product roadmap and backlog, balancing discovery, experimentation, delivery, data requirements, and technical debt.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Design, QA, Sales, and other Product teams to develop prototypes, proof-of-concept solutions, and scalable AI capabilities.
  • Define minimum viable products for AI initiatives while balancing customer value, technical feasibility, cost, risk, and responsible-use considerations.
  • Establish acceptance criteria and evaluate completed development work against product requirements, user experience standards, and AI performance metrics.
  • Monitor AI-specific product issues, including output quality, bias, hallucinations, and safety, while supporting user acceptance testing, defect triage, and mitigation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on AI product capabilities, limitations, measurement, monitoring, and responsible-use guidelines.
  • Communicate product priorities, experimentation outcomes, and progress clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and changing expectations around AI-enabled experiences.
  • Contribute to business cases for AI investments, outlining expected value, implementation costs, model and infrastructure expenses, and potential risks.
  • Lead coordination across teams for strategic AI initiatives, ensuring alignment throughout discovery and delivery.
Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong product management experience with practical exposure to AI/ML-powered products or data-driven software solutions. You should be comfortable translating complex technical concepts into clear product decisions and collaborating with stakeholders across different functions. The following qualifications are expected:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in product management, product ownership, or a closely related role within a software product development environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with AI/ML-powered features or data products.
  • Strong experience gathering and translating requirements across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
  • Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with customer support processes, issue management, and bug tracking.
  • Proficiency with modern product management and collaboration tools such as Jira, yEd, and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with analytics and experimentation platforms such as Optimizely, FullStory, or Adobe is an advantage.
  • Experience in marketplaces, advertising, e-commerce, SaaS, or other data-rich industries is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain AI capabilities and limitations clearly.
