Executrade is assisting a well‑established Alberta insurance brokerage in Red Deer to appoint a Senior Commercial Insurance Producer. You will build relationships, develop new business, and tailor risk‑management solutions for diverse commercial clients.

The role offers autonomy within a collaborative team and the opportunity to expand a growing commercial portfolio across industries such as construction, trucking, oil & gas, real estate, and more.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance, preferably in a producer/broker/Account Executive role.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial insurance sales and business development.
  • Strong existing industry and community relationships are an asset.
  • Level 2 General Insurance License or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a profitable commercial book through new business development and referrals.
  • Identify prospects and build a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Meet business owners to assess operations, exposures, and insurance needs.
  • Develop customized commercial programs based on client risk.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from discovery to closing.

The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established, locally owned insurance brokerage with a strong presence in Central Alberta. They are looking to add an experienced Senior Commercial Insurance Producer to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established commercial insurance professional who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and providing clients with tailored insurance and risk-management solutions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage an established brokerage platform while taking ownership of business development and growing a commercial portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow a profitable commercial insurance book of business through new business development, networking, referrals, and existing relationships.
  • Identify prospective clients and build a consistent pipeline of new commercial opportunities.
  • Meet with business owners and decision-makers to understand their operations, exposures, and insurance requirements.
  • Develop customized commercial insurance programs based on each client's unique risk profile.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and initial discovery through presentation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with commercial clients and act as a trusted insurance advisor.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and expand existing client relationships.
  • Work closely with internal service and broking teams to ensure a smooth and positive client experience.
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurance markets and underwriting partners.
  • Stay current on commercial insurance products, market conditions, emerging risks, and industry trends.
  • Participate in networking events, industry associations, community initiatives, and other business-development activities.
  • Maintain accurate client and prospect information within the brokerage's systems.

  • Self‑motivated and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • A client‑first approach with a genuine interest in building long‑term relationships.
