Placements24 in Canada’s oil and gas sector seeks a Senior Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety performance near Kimberley. You will lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/SIL), develop and implement PSM programs, and perform QRAs and consequence modeling to prevent major accidents.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with at least 8 years in process safety, strong OSHA PSM and API RP 750 knowledge, and proven experience leading risk studies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in process safety engineering, with Oil & Gas exposure.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety concepts, OSHA PSM and API RP 750.
• Proven experience leading HAZOP and other risk assessments.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety Engineer to enhance their safety performance and risk management protocols for operations near Kimberley . This role is critical in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards to prevent major accidents. You will lead and participate in key safety studies, develop safety procedures, and ensure that robust safety measures are integrated into all phases of project development and operation within the Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL assessments.
• Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct quantitative risk assessments (QRAs) and consequence modeling.
• Review engineering designs and operational procedures for process safety compliance.
• Develop emergency response plans and investigate process safety incidents.
• Provide technical guidance and training on process safety principles to engineers and operators.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety engineering, with significant exposure to the Oil & Gas sector .
• In-depth knowledge of process safety concepts, standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, API RP 750), and methodologies.
• Proven experience in leading HAZOP studies and other risk assessment techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects.
