Job summary

Brightsmith is partnering with an innovative clean technology company developing a first-of-its-kind industrial process to support the circular economy and sustainable manufacturing. The Senior Process Engineer will join the growing engineering team to deliver and scale up the demonstration plant toward commercial deployment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or related field.
• Extensive process engineering experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience scaling pilot/demonstration to commercial operations.
• Proficiency with PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances; equipment specs.
• Experience with process safety reviews such as HAZOPs.
• Ability to deliver high-quality technical work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support process engineering across pilot, demonstration and future commercial-scale projects.
• Drive process scale-up toward commercial deployment.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, mass and energy balances, equipment datasheets and commissioning procedures.
• Provide input into equipment sizing, specification and selection.
• Support process safety activities including HAZOPs and reviews.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, R&D, operations and project teams to meet milestones.
• Assist commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting and optimisation.
• Analyse operating data to identify improvements and optimisation opportunities.
• Help develop and implement engineering standards and best practices as the organisation grows.
• Mentor junior engineers as required.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment selection and procurement.
