Job summary

Jobgether in Canada seeks a Power System Engineer III to advance electrical grid modernization with a focus on renewable integration. You will perform interconnection studies across the WECC footprint and develop robust generation models using PSS/E, PSLF, and PSCAD for solar, battery storage, and wind projects.

You will collaborate with clients and teammates to deliver precise analyses, contribute to innovative methods, and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in power systems engineering or related role.
• Experience with generation integration or load interconnection studies preferred.
• Hands-on experience building or validating models with PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD.
• Knowledge of solar PV, battery energy storage, and wind is helpful.
• Strong communication and ability to work with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead generation interconnection studies within the WECC footprint.
• Evaluate grid capacity and system impacts to identify optimal interconnection strategies.
• Support interconnection projects through power system modeling, due diligence, and engineering assessments.
• Create, develop, and validate PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD models for renewables.
• Conduct specialized studies such as sub-synchronous resonance, protection coordination, and transient overvoltage analyses.
• Communicate findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovative study approaches and knowledge resources.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure quality, timely delivery.
