Job summary

Egale Canada, based in Toronto, Ontario, seeks a Senior Project Management Officer for a 24-month contract in a hybrid role. You will own the project lifecycle end-to-end, drive governance, manage budgets, and mentor junior staff to advance 2SLGBTQI equity through research, education, advocacy, and awareness initiatives.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement at senior levels, and a Four-Day Workweek model with a 40-hour role and a 34-hour schedule.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field is required.
• MBA strongly preferred.
• PMP certification strongly preferred.
• Additional project management certifications are assets.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive PMO or similar experience.
• Experience with stakeholder management including senior leadership.
• Experience managing vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with project financial management.
• Knowledge of equity and inclusion in 2SLGBTQI contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from idea to impact, ensuring clarity, accountability, and purpose.
• Deliver projects on time and on budget, aligned to priorities.
• Lead full lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, close-out.
• Establish governance structures to support implementation.
• Develop and manage plans, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Ensure documentation and lifecycle standards are met.
• Engage subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Manage vendors and collaborators for successful outcomes.
• Identify risks and issues early and implement solutions.
• Lead evaluation frameworks and apply insights to future work.
• Facilitate meetings to monitor progress and address challenges.
• Contribute to improving processes, tools, and templates for impact and efficiency.
• Participate in external committees and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
