Job summary

TEKsystems is recruiting for a Municipal Government client in Calgary for a Senior IT Project Manager. This 6-month contract centers on emerging technologies within the Smart Cities program, blending strategy with hands-on experimentation to modernize services for Calgarians.

Responsibilities include intake triage, requirements gathering, and pilot coordination under the Innovation Through Procurement Challenge framework, with clear client updates and risk tracking.

Qualifications

• Eight years of IT project management experience following PMI PMBOK® Guide practices.
• Experience leading medium to large technology projects with cross-functional teams.
• Strong interpersonal, planning and analytic skills; effective communication and facilitation.
• Experience with public sector or large organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support emerging technology experimentation requests from City staff through intake to handoff.
• Maintain documented requirements, schedules, risk/issue logs, and client status updates.
• Coordinate pilots aligned with the Innovation Through Procurement Challenge framework.
