Job summary

TD Securities is seeking an experienced Hands-on Sr. Platform Engineer in Toronto to lead the next-gen Trading Risk Warehouse platform.

You will design and develop a scalable, resilient PnL reporting platform used by Risk Analysts, Front Office Traders, and Executives. You will guide platform engineering efforts to remove bottlenecks, automate maintenance, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards on a timely basis.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in managing and supporting large scale platform.
• Strong experience with Hadoop platform including HDFS, Spark and Hive.
• 8+ years of Linux system administration.
• Experience in managing web and service/API platforms.
• Experience working with messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka).
• Experience with RDBMS; fluent in SQL and NoSQL like Cassandra is a plus.
• 6+ years of Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven), Jenkins, in Agile environments.
• Experience implementing and managing system monitoring tools.
• Experience developing and managing highly scalable, low-latency systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a high performing platform ensuring stability, reliability, security and scalability.
• Manage underlying infrastructure: hardware, software and storage resources.
• Manage multiple environments (Prod/Pre-Prod) and ensure integration.
• Streamline code promotion processes to improve developer productivity.
• Ensure platform stability within the TRW ecosystem.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize platform performance.
• Analyze system issues and provide long-term resolutions.
• Promote CI/CD best practices and continuous delivery adoption.
• Automate existing processes and workflows for transformation.
• Explore new capabilities to drive innovation and support teams.
