Job summary

The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) currently seeks an experienced Hands-on Sr. Platform Engineer to design and develop a scalable PnL reporting platform for TD Securities. The role focuses on building a high-performing system, leading platform engineering efforts, and driving automation across environments.

You will address bottlenecks and work with teams to ensure reliability and security. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in large-scale platform management, strong Linux administration, and expertise

Qualifications

• 8+ years in managing and supporting large-scale, mission-critical platform environments.
• Experience with migration initiatives for large platforms (e.g., Hadoop/Spark/Hive).
• Strong Linux system administration skills and web/service/API platform management.
• Proficiency with messaging systems (Kafka) and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven) and monitoring tools.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize performance and drive automation across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a high-performing platform with stability, reliability, security and scalability.
• Manage underlying hardware, software and storage resources.
• Administer multiple environments (Prod/Pre-Prod/Lower) and ensure environment stability.
• Streamline code promotion processes and improve developer productivity.
• Ensure platform and TRW ecosystem stability and address bottlenecks.
• Analyze system issues and implement permanent solutions.
• Promote CI/CD best practices and continuous integration/delivery.
• Drive automation of existing processes and workflows.
• Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with development and production teams to support needs and troubleshoot issues.
