Job summary

Siemens Canada is seeking a Principal Platform Architect to define the Canada-based platform for Robotics AI data, ingestion, validation, governance, and runtime-oriented applications. You will architect APIs, data contracts, and event-driven services to scale from pilots to industrial deployment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with AI/ML and robotics specialists, and guide decisions on cloud-native services, security, and deployment models in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE/Distributed Systems/Robotics.
• 10+ years’ experience in software architecture or platform engineering.
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, APIs, and data platforms.
• Proven ability to lead architecture for complex, cross-functional products.
• Experience with industrial data systems or robotics software.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end platform architecture for data ingestion, APIs, and workflow execution.
• Set modular architectural principles for robotics data use cases and AI workflows.
• Design data contracts, interfaces, and integration patterns for edge and cloud systems.
• Shape onboarding, versioning, governance, and evaluation of datasets.
• Define scalable patterns for orchestration, asynchrony, and observability.
• Collaborate with robotics teams to define connectors for controllers, sensors, and edge sources.
• Guide cloud-native deployment models, storage, security, and production hardening.
• Evolve platform to future domains like validation harnesses and task workflows.
• Mentor backend, integration, and platform engineers to raise technical quality.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, roadmaps, and build-vs-partner decisions.
