Job summary

Allstate Insurance Company of Canada is seeking a Platform Architect within the Cyber Operations & Platforms group to define and drive architecture across AI, data and tooling. You will shape enterprise-scale platform design, ensure interoperability between AI systems and data platforms, and minimize fragmentation while maximizing reuse.

Key responsibilities include establishing APIs, data models, and observability, while guiding adoption of scalable, secure solutions and governance-driven

Qualifications

• Five years of software engineering experience across at least three programming paradigms, including Java and JavaScript.
• Experience building robust RESTful APIs and using modern development tools.
• Three+ years delivering large-scale distributed systems with Docker/Kubernetes on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Proven ability to influence architecture direction and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define platform architecture, patterns, and integration standards across AI, data, and tooling.
• Ensure high-quality, structured data for AI and explainable, auditable outputs.
• Design unified tool integration and ensure AI-ready data quality across platforms.
• Create scalable, reusable “paved roads” to simplify adoption and reduce duplication.
• Lead strategic decisions on build vs buy vs integrate for scalable solutions.
• Collaborate across teams to align platforms and drive cross-functional initiatives.
