Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Civil & Structure Engineer in Canada to lead stress analyses for piping systems in nuclear or heavy industrial contexts. You will perform simulations, review drawings, and coordinate with clients and suppliers across multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, PE eligibility in Ontario, and hands-on use of PipeStress, Cesar II, and FE tools. Travel to client sites and field support are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Civil & Structure from a recognized university.
• Registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in heavy industrial environments (power/mining/oil & gas).
• Experience with piping stress analysis for power/mining/oil & gas; nuclear knowledge asset.
• Experience with PipeStress, AutoPipe, Cesar II or similar software.
• Working knowledge of CSA S16, CSA N285/289/291, ASME B31.1/31.3, NBCC, AISC, and related codes.
• Ability to work independently and provide defensible technical solutions; mentorship to junior engineers.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress evaluation of piping systems supports per ASME and ANSI/ASME codes.
• Prepare engineering computations using PipeStress, Cesar II, MathCAD, and FE tools.
• Model complex piping and supports using finite element methods.
• Review drawings, calculations, reports, and data sheets for compliance.
• Review 3D piping models and equipment layout to ensure integrity.
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, and piping supports calculations/analyses.
• Assist with TSSA CRN registration packages for pressure boundary systems.
• Interface with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
• Conduct site visits and support field construction activities as needed.
• Follow AtkinsRéalis QA programs and applicable codes.
