Job summary

Tetranex Solutions Inc. in Calgary, AB, is seeking a full-time Senior Piping Designer to join our Calgary office.

The role involves supervising plant layouts, piping design and drafting deliverables within a multidisciplinary team, with strong AutoCAD and Plant 3D skills. Qualifications

  • Eng. Design/Drafting program or related technical discipline.
  • Strong AutoCAD and CADWorx knowledge.
  • Navisworks experience required.
  • Bluebeam Revu experience required.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Position Description

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Senior Piping Designer (Open to Employee/Contractor).

This position is based out of our Calgary, AB office.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and assist in the development of plant layouts, piping design, drafting deliverables and project work packages.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary project team of designers and ensure interdisciplinary co-ordination when developing models.
  • Quality checks on the work of designers as needed.
  • Support senior resource members in the development of design calculations and studies as per project requirements.
  • Proficient in 3D Modeling, Plant 3D is a plus, advanced AutoCAD skills, ability to design and draft project specific deliverables.
  • Work independently, strong understanding of industry and company standards and ability to incorporate into design.
  • Identifying changes to the scope of work as needed.
  • Quality assurance and support of project schedule input and progress tracking.
  • Communication and coordination with department and project team members as required.
  • Manage co-ordination with vendors and vendor documentation to a level required for project execution.
  • Mentor junior design resources to ensure that they are properly instructed in the performance of their assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • Diploma or certificate in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or related technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience in design applications in support of energy sector projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Solid working knowledge of CADWorx, Plant 3D is an asset.
  • Solid working knowledge of Navisworks.
  • Bluebeam Revu experience required.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  • Strong work ethic as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
