Job summary

Equinox Engineering Ltd. in Calgary, AB, is recruiting a Senior Piping Designer with 5+ years of EPCM experience to contribute technical expertise and support the design and execution of energy facilities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, create 3D piping models using CADWorx, Smart 3D, and Autodesk Plant 3D, and develop deliverables from PFDs to isometrics while adhering to ASME codes and project standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma (Piping) or equivalent education.
• Minimum 5 years of piping design experience within an EPCM environment.
• Proficiency with CADWorx, Smart 3D (S3D), Autodesk Plant 3D, or similar piping design software.
• Experience developing piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and design deliverables for industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with ASME codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D piping models utilizing Hexagon CADWorx, Hexagon Smart 3D (S3D), and Autodesk Plant 3D.
• Prepare piping and mechanical design deliverables including: PFDs, P&IDs, Plot Plans, General Arrangements, Equipment Layouts, Isometric Drawings.
• Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Support design development from conceptual studies through detailed engineering.
• Work closely with Piping Design Leads, Engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver quality designs.
• Participate in internal and external 30%, 60%, and 90% model reviews.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Communicate project status, design updates, and technical recommendations effectively.
• Support project schedules and deliverables while maintaining high quality standards.

What You’ll Do

Technical Support

• Create and maintain detailed 3D piping models utilizing Hexagon CADWorx, Hexagon Smart 3D (S3D), and Autodesk Plant 3D

• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Technical Exposure

• Gain experience across a broad range of oil and gas processing facilities and emerging energy projects
• Work with advanced 3D design tools and modern engineering workflows

About You
