Job summary

Tetranex Solutions Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Controls Technologist/Engineer in Calgary, Alberta. The role focuses on design, programming and commissioning of industrial control and HMI systems across DCS/PLC/SCADA/RTU platforms.

Candidates should have 5+ years in automation/controls, strong safety and communication skills, and be willing to travel for site work as required. This is a full-time position with benefits and growth opportunities.

  • Engineering degree or technologist diploma or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, programming and commissioning of industrial control and HMI systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA/RTU).
  • Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS, Emerson DeltaV, ABB, Allen-Bradley and Schneider Electric systems is an asset.
  • Experience with Wonderware InTouch/System Platform, Ignition, Factory Talk View is an asset.
  • Develop and hand over engineering deliverables: P&IDs, control narratives, panel drawings, I/O drawings.
  • Software and hardware acceptance testing and commissioning support.
  • Client and vendor communication and interface management.
  • Mentor junior resources and support site work as required.

Position Description

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Intermediate Controls Technologist/Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, programming and commissioning of industrial control and HMI systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA/RTU).
  • Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS, Emerson DeltaV, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric industrial control systems would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Wonderware InTouch/System Platform, Ignition, Factory Talk View HMI/SCADA systems would be considered an asset.
  • Understanding and development of engineering deliverables: P&IDs, Shutdown Keys, Control System Architectures, Control Narratives, Panel Drawings, I/O Drawings, etc.
  • Software and hardware acceptance testing.
  • Client and vendor communication and interface.
  • Experience with loop testing, commissioning and start-up support would be considered an asset.
  • Mentoring of Junior resources.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree, Technologist diploma or Trades certificate – equivalent level of field experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of automation/controls related experience.
  • Strong commitment and demonstrated safety performance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness/ability to travel and prepared to do site work as required.
  • Electrical and/or Instrumentation experience an asset.
