SPG Canada, a leading DUAE, is seeking a Senior Underwriter for the Non-Standard Personal Lines Team. Analyze acceptability of opportunities, review submissions, renewals, and endorsements; collaborate with brokers to deliver value and exceptional service.

This hybrid role is based in Vancouver, Langley or Salmon Arm, BC, offering growth, mentorship, and a broad product suite within a supportive, entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in personal underwriting.
• Hold a Level 2 broker license, or can qualify to obtain within 90 days.
• Advanced understanding of personal lines underwriting theory and its day-to-day application.
• Ability to meet the needs of customers; deliver high quality service and are committed to continuous improvement.
• Ability to make well informed, effective and timely decisions.
• Ability to pursue and achieve production targets; think strategically and set priorities; align with long-term goals.
• Influence team members positively and provide direction toward team goals.
• Foster positive relationships; networking at industry events; brand ambassador for the organization.
• Mentor and train less experienced team members.
• Pursuing CIP or CAIB designation.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.

Aufgaben

• Perform risk analysis using internal and external data for quoting, negotiating and authorizing risk acceptance of moderate to high complexity.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties; attend seminars and networking events as needed.
• Negotiate coverage and price with brokers within guidelines and delegated authority.
• Develop and support partnerships with brokers by providing prompt, professional service and driving new business opportunities.
• Communicate decisions and respond to requests promptly and professionally.
• Manage, strengthen and grow a book of profitable business.
• Understand underwriting guidelines in depth and apply them.
• Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel policies following guidelines and authority.
• Maintain service level agreements with brokerages.
• Train and mentor junior staff.
• Maintain a senior level of annual production.
• Plan and conduct broker visits and attend company events.
• Understand market trends and negotiations.
