Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead permafrost and cold-region geotechnical projects across the Prairies and Northern Canada.

Based in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba, you will provide technical leadership, project management, and mentorship within multidisciplinary teams to solve complex foundation, infrastructure, and geohazard challenges. You will oversee investigations, perform thermo-mechanical analyses, and guide design from concept to construction while

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering; master’s/Ph.D. is an asset.
• 12+ years of relevant geotechnical experience including permafrost or cold-region engineering.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering, geology, and permafrost behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical assignments in permafrost and cold-region environments from investigations through design.
• Deliver analyses, specifications, drawings, and reports for practical engineering solutions.
• Apply thermal, slope-stability, seepage, deformation modelling expertise.
• Manage geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects, coordinating teams to meet client, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Mentor junior and intermediate geotechnical professionals and support knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with Ground Engineering and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Prepare and review proposals, reports, and technical deliverables for client decisions.
