Qualifications

  • 4+ years of pension administration experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Excel functions and Word mail merge.
  • Strong mathematics aptitude and process-oriented focus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review documentation for pension plans, including benefit packages and calculations.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and clients to ensure compliance and provide service.
  • Maintain accurate databases of member information and contributions.

We are looking for a talented and hardworking Senior Pension Administrator to join our dedicated team of administrators with opportunities to work at either our Toronto, Fredericton, Halifax or Winnipeg office. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience with defined benefit pension administration and thrive on providing superior customer service in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Job responsibilities :

  • Prepare and / or review termination, retirement and death benefit packages for members of pension plans
  • Prepare and / or review authorization of benefit payments
  • Prepare and / or review family law value calculations
  • Submit routine reconciliation and filings with the regulatory pension bodies and Canada Revenue Agency
  • Review and analyze membership data
  • Maintain and update pension plan databases with member information
  • Reconcile contributions to, and payments from, pension funds
  • Liaise with fund custodian for payment authorizations and stop payments on death of member
  • Answer calls & emails from client employers and pension plan members
  • Adhere to a high standard of customer service and best practices to provide clients with exceptional and timely service
  • Learn plan provisions and administration policies for assigned clients
  • Stay current with relevant laws and rules concerning pensions across Canada

What you offer :

  • A strong mathematics aptitude or focus (comfort handling numerical data)
  • Process and detail-oriented with a keenness to accuracy on data entry and calculations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, including use of various Excel functions and Word merge
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of pension legislation
  • 4+ years of pension administration experience
  • Willingness to take ownership of assigned clients, setting and meeting required deadlines

  • CEBS or PPAC designation, or an RPA designation
  • A degree or diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, or General Science
  • Experience with streamlining or automating processes
  • Willingness to spearhead and drive team initiatives
  • Familiarity with actuarial concepts
