Job summary

Vaco/Highspring is seeking a payroll professional to run full cycle payroll for hourly and salaried staff across Canada and the US on a semi-monthly basis. You will coordinate with HR and site operations to maintain accurate records, timesheets, and benefits, ensuring remittances and ROEs are timely.

You will also prepare year-end tax filings, support audits, and stay current with provincial and federal payroll rules to keep processes compliant.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of full cycle payroll experience across Canada and US jurisdictions.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation; US payroll knowledge is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, able to resolve discrepancies independently.

About the Opportunity

• Run full cycle payroll for hourly and salaried staff across Canada and the US on a semi-monthly basis, including wage calculations, deductions, overtime, incentives, and garnishments
• Maintain the integrity of payroll data by coordinating with HR and site operations on employee records, timesheets, and benefits, and keep remittances, RRSP billings, and ROEs accurate and on time
• Prepare year-end tax filings and ad hoc reporting, support audits, and stay current on federal and provincial payroll legislation to keep processes compliant

About You

• A payroll professional with at least five years of full cycle experience, comfortable with manual and high-volume processing across multiple provinces and US jurisdictions
• Strong working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and basic accounting principles, with US payroll knowledge considered a plus
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, able to resolve discrepancies independently and communicate clearly with employees and government agencies

Pay Range

$85,000 - $95,000 per year

This position for employment is for a current vacancy with Vaco/Highspring’s client. You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
