Job summary

The Boyd Group is seeking a Manager, Payroll in Winnipeg, MB to lead payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian employees within a multi‑jurisdictional framework. You will guide a payroll team, ensure accuracy, and drive improvement across regulatory compliance, controls, and system integrations.

Ideal candidates have strong Workday/ADP experience, SOX knowledge, and a proven track record in cross‑functional payroll initiatives in a high‑volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of payroll operations in a multi‑jurisdictional environment, or a high school diploma with 6+ years of experience.
• Minimum 1 year of payroll leadership with at least 10 employees under management.
• Experience leading cross‑functional payroll initiatives including M&A and system upgrades.
• Experience with payroll controls, SOX, and audits.
• Workday and ADP experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day payroll operations for 14,000 U.S. and 2,000 Canadian employees.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of payrolls.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the payroll team.
• Review payroll results, high‑risk transactions, and act as escalation point.
• Drive standardization, metrics, automation, and continuous improvement.
