Job summary

Joseph Brant Hospital is seeking a dynamic Manager, Payroll to oversee the payroll department operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and pay-rate changes. Lead a cross-functional team of 2 staff and collaborate with Time & Attendance, Scheduling, ADP Workforce Management and Human Resources.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or HR Management.
• CPM certification through the Canadian Payroll Association.
• 5+ years of progressive management experience in a Payroll department.
• Experience managing large payrolls with multiple collective agreements.
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and year-end reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic payroll initiatives aligned with JBH goals.
• Oversee day-to-day payroll operations, compliance, and reporting.
• Audit payroll cycles, approve direct deposits, and manage remittances.
• Ensure tax filings, year-end T4s/T4As, and GL reconciliations.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams; implement process improvements.
