Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate payroll cycles within a hybrid, full-time setting at the corporate office. The role handles union and non-union hourly payroll, maintains records, and ensures compliance with government regulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ payroll administration experience, or equivalent in education and experience.
• Canadian Payroll Association PCP certification preferred.
• Experience with union hourly payroll desirable.
• Experience with time and attendance systems (Dayforce) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes union and non-union hourly payroll, including hires, terminations, rate changes and garnishments.
• Sets up and maintains employee information in payroll software and attendance systems.
• Audits payroll data for accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Audits daily line-up sheets to approve overtime and related items.
• Manages remittances to external agencies and ensures proper ROEs and final pay.
• Responds to inquiries and supports departments with payroll reports.
• Performs year-end payroll reconciliations (T4, T4A) and system upgrades testing.
• Maintains confidentiality and applies changes per collective agreement.
