We are currently recruiting for the following role in our Calgary office :
Senior Paralegal, Corporate Services
Essential Functions :
- Work with internal stakeholders to assist with drafting of corporate documents relating to incorporations, organizations, amalgamations, arrangements, amendments, continuances, extra-provincial registrations and complex corporate reorganizations.
- File management, preparation of closing agendas, track deliverables and key dates; provide timely updates throughout transactions.
- Complex minute book review and analysis and drafting ratification documents.
- Work with internal stakeholders on various corporate structures, including Alberta, Federal and Federal Not-For-Profit corporations, societies, extra-provincial corporations, and limited partnerships.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of the Business Corporations Act (Alberta), Canada Business Corporations Act, and Canada Not-For-Profit Act.
- Manage and maintain the corporate database.
- Mentor intermediate and junior team members.
- Support annual compliance and day-to-day functions of the Corporate Services team.
Qualifications :
- 6+ years of relevant paralegal experience within a corporate services department.
- Exceptional attention to detail and resourcefulness.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be an analytical thinker with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Word, Outlook, TEAMS, and Excel.
- Experience working with corporate records software and data-sharing platforms is considered an asset.
