Lumentum Canada is seeking an experienced Senior Optical Characterization and Test Engineer to join our Ottawa team on-site. You will design and execute advanced optical test strategies, characterize critical parameters, and drive data-driven improvements across R&D and manufacturing.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in product development of optical components, photonics, or telecom systems.
Proficiency in Python and hands‑on test automation experience.
Experience with optical test & measurement equipment and Agile tools.

Responsibilities

Design and implement advanced optical test and verification strategies for production readiness.
Characterize optical parameters using advanced measurement techniques.
Apply data analysis to derive insights and improve optical designs.
Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality to align product requirements.
Develop scalable test solutions and document results; support Agile workflows.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing in the team.
