Job summary

PulseMedica in Edmonton is seeking a Senior Optical Engineer to lead design, development and deployment of multi-channel imaging and laser systems for ophthalmic applications. You will own projects from concept to clinical use, mentor engineers, and influence device performance and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Optical Science/Engineering with relevant coursework in optics.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience with optical imaging devices and multimodal systems.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end optical system development from concept to clinical deployment.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, software, and systems engineers to ensure cohesive performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and strengthen the team’s technical depth.
• Translate proven technologies into reliable medical devices.
