World Star Tech in Markham, Canada, is seeking an Optical Design Engineer to join a dynamic photonics team. You will design and build laser systems, model optics in Zemax, and prototype photonic components in a hands-on environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Engineering or Physics, has Zemax experience, and can design passive and active photonic parts while aligning small optical assemblies with precision. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience modeling optical systems in Zemax.
• Experience designing passive and active photonic components.
• Experience handling and characterizing photonic assemblies (lasers, detectors).
• Proficient with small, sensitive optical component alignment techniques.
• Experience using AutoCAD.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
