Colonial Group is seeking a Senior Operations Assistant at G3 Pasqua to support grain receiving, storage, grading, processing and shipping while ensuring safe and efficient handling across the elevator. The role may provide work direction to Operations Assistants during shifts.

Required qualifications include minimum three years in elevator/terminal environments, farm or agricultural experience, and at least one year of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Follow EH&S policies and ensure subcontractors comply with requirements.
  • Comply with environmental standards and grain grading standards.
  • Coordinate activities of Operations Assistants during receiving, transfer and shipping.
  • Operate terminal control systems.
  • Maintain clean, well-maintained facilities and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Receive grain by truck and complete required documentation.
  • Collect grain samples during receiving and transfer activities.
  • Oversee grain cleaning to remove dockage.
  • Bin and transfer grain per operational requirements.
  • Apply official grades to received and shipped grain.
  • Ship grain and handle railcars and locomotives.
  • Provide professional service to farmers, truck drivers, and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title:Senior Operations Assistant

Location: G3 Pasqua

The Senior Operations Assistant performs duties related to the safe and efficient handling of grain throughout the elevator. This role supports grain receiving, storage, grading, processing, and shipping activities while helping maintain clean and well-maintained facilities and providing professional customer service. The Senior Operations Assistant may provide work direction to Operations Assistants during a shift.

Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:

  • Follow and promote compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, and ensure subcontractors working on site adhere to applicable requirements.
  • Comply with environmental standards, regulatory requirements, and grain grading standards.
  • Provide work direction and coordinate the activities of Operations Assistants during grain receiving, transfer, and shipping operations, as required.
  • Operate terminal control systems.
  • Maintain clean, efficient, and well-maintained facilities and communicate maintenance requirements as needed.
  • Receive grain by truck, including weighing loads and completing required documentation.
  • Collect grain samples during receiving and grain transfer activities.
  • Operate and oversee grain cleaning activities to remove dockage.
  • Bin and transfer grain in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Apply official grades to received and shipped grain.
  • Ship grain, including handling railcars and locomotives.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to farmers, commercial truck drivers, and other customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Minimum three years of elevator and/or terminal experience.
  • Farm or agricultural industry experience.
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience and the ability to provide professional service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Level 2 grading certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months.
  • Knowledge of grain handling operations, grain grading standards, and safe operating practices.
  • Strong attention to detail when grading grain, completing documentation, and monitoring operational activities.
