Job summary

Silent-Aire, a Johnson Controls division, is hiring a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead APQP activities for NPIs and collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Plant Quality to secure robust designs and processes.

You will drive QRD artifacts, PFMEA/DFMEA, and Control Plans, while engaging with customers to ensure their requirements are met and acting as the voice of the customer in internal discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in direct manufacturing and plant quality in an equipment production setting.
• Experience with facilitating APQP, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and Control Plans in manufacturing or product development.
• Experience with introducing and establishing NPI Quality processes.
• Experience in interacting with customers and acting as their representative within internal teams.
• Experience with a stage-gate product development process.

Responsibilities

• Act as an SME for Quality APQP activities and lead their implementation in NPI projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Plant Quality to develop and implement Quality Requirements Documents and related deliverables.
• Maintain QRD deliverables throughout the stage gate process.
• Champion implementation of process control plans for NPIs with manufacturing and plant quality teams.
• Monitor and follow up on actions from FMEAs and ensure fidelity to the stage-gate process.
• Interact with customers to address needs and provide technical guidance on quality initiatives.
• Represent the voice of the customer in internal discussions to meet requirements.
• Lead or assist RCAs and 8D problem-solving related to warranty or commissioning issues.
• Participate in Kaizens or plant/process improvement workshops.
